Frequently Asked QuestionsBelow are some FAQ you may have. Are
all our materials Fairly Traded?
All our new craft kits contain Fairly Traded, ethical
items. Only when absolutely necessary, for product functionality, are non-Fair
Trade items included eg; stretchy thread to make the recycled bracelets.
In these cases there is no Fair Trade alternative.
How
sustainable is the card used in our kits?
The card used for the packaging and the animal shapes are
from a sustainable source. The A5 card
used in the Pictures Kit is made from 100% Recycled paper.
Why
do we use Cellophane bags?
Cellophane is a natural polymer made from cellulose, a
component of trees and plants. It is
100% Biodegradable. We considered using
Corn Starch bags, but felt the growing of corn for this purpose had a
detrimental impact on food prices in Less Developed countries.
What
is the difference between Fairtrade and Fair Trade?
“Fairtrade” is a labelling system which certifies that
products bearing the Fairtrade mark meet a range of specific criteria. “Fair Trade” expresses a rather wider vision
of development, covering a much wider range of products than can be
certified (many of our materials cannot
be certified at present), and embracing campaigning and awareness raising
activity. |
